Folding Knives: Model Guide

My current Folder lineup consists of seven basic models plus the Griptilikins conversion, most of which have several variations. I will be making these folders and offering them for sale as the knives are finished. While I do make knives which are similar to each other, I never make exactly the same knife twice. I enjoy being able to vary and modify my work as I progress. This is one thing that keeps the work fresh and prevents it from becoming monotonous drudgery. So please keep in mind, the photos you see here are guidelines rather than product samples. Prices for my Custom Folders start at around €450 for EU sales and $575 for sales going to non-EU countries such as the USA.

Please check my in stock page to see which knives are on hand or send me an email with the model you are interested in to be put on the waiting list. I will notify you when a knife becomes available.

Griptilikins Grips
These grips fit Benchmade Knives Models 550, 550HG, 551 and 552, they will NOT fit the 553 tanto blade.

Gary Moore at Moore Cutlery is the exclusive sales agent for Griptilikins grips in the USA and Canada. All other buyers contact me directly.

I have discontinued production of the all aluminium Griptilikins grips, so act quickly if you want an alu set. I will continue offering the Griptilikins Grips in glass fibre plastic exclusively.

Ryback Folding Kitchen Knife
Open: 277mm Blade: 112mm Closed: 158mm

A very large folder, most recent examples have been made with Damascus steel. I often make these with overlays attached to the grips, see the slide show for some past examples.

An affordable production version of the Ryback Folder is produced and sold worldwide by Cherusker Messer in Germany. Click here to see photos of the Cherusker production prototype!

Ryback EDC
Open: 207mm Blade: 83mm Closed: 119mm

This scaled down Ryback is about 25% smaller than its big brother shown above – I know it's hard to tell from the pics but it is smaller! The Ryback EDC is ideal for pocket carry and I make them as either a framelock or as a linerlock. The grips may be plain titanium or feature milled grooves as shown in the photo.

Leafstorm and Leafstorm Lightweight
Open: 153mm Blade: 60mm Closed: 91mm

My favorite mini folder made from 2mm 6Al4V titanium. I usually make the blades from 3.2mm Böhler N690 cobalt stainless steel. These knives fit neatly in the watch pocket of most jeans.

The standard version has Ti scales on both sides with an overlay on the non-locking side; the Lightweight version has the non-locking side machined completely from a super strong synthetic plastic laminate.

Spyderco will bring out a US-made production version of this knife in the Fall of 2008!

Parforce
Open: 190mm Blade: 80mm Closed: 105mm

This is my newest folder and I have only made liner locking versions to date. However I do offer two blade styles for this pocket friendly EDC. The standard blade is a modified clip point which is very good for almost any task and the other blade is a classic, sheep foot style for those who like a more exotic design.

All the knives shown have CPM154CP powder metal stainless blades.

I only offer a thumbstud opener on this model.

Avalon V2
Open: 179mm Blade: 72mm Closed: 105mm

Grips are 6082-T6 (AlMgSi1) Aluminium with an inset titanium lock bar. This alloy is stronger than 6061 and has replaced it for many high strength applications. The grips for these knives are entirely designed and CNC-machined by me in my shop.

Blades are hand ground from CPMS30V stainless and may be stone washed, satin finished or matt blasted.

These knives are lightweight yet very durable with a hard anodized surface that resists scratching. Many colors are possible, from black and silver to red, blue, olive, green, orange... just about anything!

Ghost Dog Pup
Open: 199mm Blade: 82mm Closed: 115mm

This user-friendly Ghost Dog – or at least pocket friendly!– Is one of my most popular folders. Ideal for EDC. The most recent examples of this knife have a standard Spyderco hole instead of the key way hole and I plan on making some soon with a nail nick.

I make these knives with 2mm Ti liners, as a 3mm framelock, with bolsters, without bolsters, with overlays, without overlays... I have made just about every combination I can think of, no wait, I think I have new idea! :-)

Ghost Dog
Open: 255mm Blade: 107mm Closed: 145mm

A large folder only available as a framelock. It's really too large for pocket carry but that doesn't stop some people. The next series of these knives will have Becut stainless blades .. That's about all I have decided on to date.
